Environmentally friendly – eco packaging and shipping
The environment is important to us so we are trying our best to do what we can to reduce our overall environmental footprint for our products, packaging and shipping materials. Every little bit helps. We don’t need a few people doing a lot, we need everyone doing a little.
We do our best to only select ingredients that are sustainably sourced and grown with organic growing practices, trying to include as many fair-trade ingredients as possible. Unfortunately, its not always possible to find organic or fair trade ingredients for what we need, but we do search them out and use the cleanest ingredients we can find. We are continually sourcing ingredients and hope to be 100% organic and fair trade as soon as possible.
What we do for our packaging and shipping:
Product packaging:
We use glass containers for all our tinctures, body oil, facial serums, hydrosols, oils, and powders. They are fully recyclable, and you can compost the lids as they are made from bamboo. The only part that isn’t recyclable is the pump section for our oils and the spray section for our hydrosols, but they can be reused or repurposed to hold homemade cleaners or for a beautiful bottle for another product. We are working to find bottle made from recycled glass but so far, we have not been able to find them.
The boxes for our products are recyclable.
We don’t use plastic for any of our product containers. Most of our products have a high fatty content from the oils so we don’t want the plastics to leach into any of our products, thus we ONLY use glass for our products. It’s safer for you and better for the planet.
For our bath soaks, herbal teas, and facial steams, we use 100% post-consumer recycled pouches. These pouches can be recycled and/or composted when empty. The labels for these products are made from stone, not trees.
Shipping materials:
We are thrilled to have partnered with EcoEnclose for all our shipping needs. Everything is made from 100% post-consumer recycled materials and can be recycled again or reused.
We ship in recycled boxes that are inserted into recycled mailers. Both can be used again, which is common for boxes, but the mailers can be used again as well to ship something to someone else and then recycled. When you open the mailer with your order, make sure to open at the perforation so you can reuse it. Once it is opened you will see that there is another sealing strip so the mailer can be used again. Simply remove the Qi Botanic Sticker and address it to whomever. Then just make sure they recycle it when they get it. :0)
Our padding used for shipping is recycled paper.
